Changes to Online Filing System for Withholding Tax Effective July 1, 2013: The Paperless Filing and Payment System will no longer be available for filing and paying withholding tax. Taxpayers must use My Alabama Taxes (MAT) to file and pay withholding taxes online. We encourage all filers to register in MAT as soon as possible to allow time to become familiar with the new system as some features have changed. MAT is a secure system with more functionality than the Paperless Filing and Payment System; you can file tax returns, make payments, view your account history and departmental letters, and perform many other functions. To register and begin filing through the MAT system, go to https://myalabamataxes.alabama.gov/_/#1 and select the Sign up here! link in the SIGN IN or SIGN UP FOR MAT window. See the Instructional Videos in the left panel of the MAT home page for assistance or click on the "Help" link to view "Frequently Asked Questions." (Please note: If you have debit block on your account you must provide your financial institution with the following code before scheduling a payment: ADORCCD000)

New in My Alabama Taxes (MAT): You may now view a record of your individual and corporate estimated tax payments directly in MAT by logging in at https://myalabamataxes.alabama.gov/.

Also New in MAT, Pay Your Tax Bill: If you've received a letter, go to My Alabama Taxes and click on the Make a Billing Payment link. All you need are your Account ID and Letter ID (which can be found in the upper right-hand corner of the billing letter) to initiate a payment. The Alabama Department of Revenue provides this service free of charge.
