Alabama Storm Victims How To File Business Returns Covered by Extension Period

Alabama Paperless Filing & Payment System:

Paperless Filing & Payment System image

The Paperless Filing & Payment System will disallow a discount and apply penalty and interest to delinquent returns. Taxpayers who have been granted an extension should calculate the discount they would be entitled to for a timely return, add that amount to the penalties charged, and enter that total in the Credit Claimed field. Taxpayers who use the above method, but are not in the disaster areas granted an extension, will be billed for any unauthorized credit claimed.

Non-State Administered Local Tax accounts should contact the Locality for filing instructions.

Withholding tax accounts should contact Withholding for instructions.

My Alabama Taxes (MAT):

Some tax types can be filed through the department's My Alabama Taxes (MAT) system: Gasoline, Motor Fuel, Aviation Fuels, Lubricating Oils, Scrap Tire Environmental Fee, State and State-administered Local Sales, Use, Rental and Lodging Taxes. ADOR can identify taxpayers located in the covered disaster area and apply the filing relief to electronically-filed tax returns/reports processed through the department's MAT system.

Click here if you need further assistance with MAT.

Paper Returns:

Taxpayers seeking this Alabama tax relief should write "April Storms 2011" in red ink on any paper returns/reports.
